According to prosecutors, Villa sent the girl text messages after committing the crime and was arrested in December last year.
Villa said that he pleaded guilty because he was “thirsty for a clear conscience” and wanted to avoid further pain to the victim and her family. Norfolk Superior Court sentenced him to seven years of probation after he pleaded guilty. The court also banned him from working with children under 16 years old and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
