With only two days left before Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Green Bay Packers Coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that he had some options offensive players, leaving everyone guessing what the OL will look like.
At least one thing is for sure: Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback wearing his No. 12 green Packers jersey to confront the quarterback in purple No. 4 Vikings jersey, and McCarthy only needs to choose from his options the best to protect Rodgers, who was sacked eight times in the first game against the Vikings on Oct. 5. Although McCarthy reiterated that first-year starter Allen Barbre remains the starter at right tackle, he also said that Barbre needs to continue to improve to keep his job as the team has brought back veteran tackle Mark Tauscher, who was the Packers’ starting right tackle since his rookie season in 2000 until he suffered a serious knee injury late last season.
Rookie T.J. Lang also has a competitor for the starting job at left tackle now as veteran tackle Chad Clifton took full part in Friday’s practice. But the rookie has just been preparing for Sunday’s game as if he will start again. As Clinton was listed questionable for Sunday with an ankle injury, which kept him out for three of the last four games, it is very likely Lang will keep his starting job at least for this week.

Vikings signed seventh-round pick Sanford
New player came to the Minnesota Vikings. He was Jamarca Sanford, picked by the team in seventh-round draft.

Sanford is a safety who started all 44 games he played at Mississippi and was a team captain during his senior year. Sanford earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors after he had 11 tackles in the Rebels' upset of eventual national champion Florida.
As the first of five Viking draft picks from 2009, Sanford needs to compete for a role on special teams after being signed. He also has the chance to become a backup to starting safeties Tyrell Johnson and Madieu Williams.

Vikings are waiting for Favre to make his decision
News about the Vikings and Brett Favre have been all around us for a few weeks. Recent news said that the Vikings will not set deadline for Favre to decide whether getting out of retirement or not.

Coach Brad Childress answered cleverly all the 24 questions asked by reporters Thursday, and 23 questions are about Favre. He hoped that he will see the 39-year-old throw before the Vikings give him a contract. But he also said that the Vikings will not urge Favre to make up his mind soon. He admitted that he had a conversation with Favre on phone, but refused to release more details.
So about Favre and the Vikings, we can still just wait for a certain outcome while speculating.
