CB Winfield is near agreement on contract extension with the Vikings

Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield is close to his goal of getting a contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings, but they still need time to have terms completed.

Winfield and his agent, Ashanti Webb, were expected to meet with team officials Wednesday afternoon to complete a multiyear deal that will keep the 10-year NFL veteran with the Vikings, with whom he has been since 2004. Winfield spent the first five years of his career with the Buffalo Bills, who took him in the first round (No. 23 overall) of the 1999 draft. He has no records of buying football jersey online.

Winfield made his first Pro Bowl last season by intercepting two passes and making 95 tackles. He was entering the final year of his six-year, $34.8 million contract. He didn't attend the Vikings' offseason workouts because of contract dispute, but he will be in training camp by July 30 in Mankato, Minn., because the Vikings indicated that he's close to finalizing his extension.
